I am a big fan of Persian flavors. I ordered the Chicken Torsh Kabob. Tender grilled chicken soaked in a sweet and tangy pomegranate walnut sauce that hits all the right notes. It arrives with fluffy basmati rice mixed with dried cranberries and a smoky grilled tomato on the side. The cranberries add little pops of tartness that make each bite interesting. Wash it down with their Persian Mule – a fun twist on the classic Mule made with grapefruit vodka, pomegranate liqueur, lime, and ginger beer. It's refreshing with just enough kick. If you’re a wine drinker, they have a pretty good variety to choose from.

Happy Hour

Larkins runs happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM, featuring half-price menu items and $2 oysters. The drink specials include $3 Larkins Lager, plus half-price cocktails like margaritas, espresso martinis, and vodka martinis. The food menu offers everything from truffle fries and deviled eggs with lump crab to Korean fried chicken wings and their smash burger with caramelized onions. It's one of downtown's best deals, where you can actually eat well without the sticker shock.

Maverick Yards in Mauldin is set to open this December, bringing a new wave of fun to the area. The former 20,000-square-foot warehouse off Main Street has been transformed into a lively entertainment hub featuring six indoor pickleball courts, three golf simulators, two padel courts, grass volleyball, outdoor yard games, and a full restaurant and bar.
